TThrough interactions, this research paper will analyze how non-Greek cultures influenced Greek material cultures, such as their artworks and religious buildings. Our understanding of Greece includes many artifacts left behind from major cities like Athens, Corinth, Sparta, and Troy and famous stories by the epic poet Homer. While many people today fail to acknowledge the role that many outside cultures had in influencing the Greek ways of expressing themselves, it is crucial to understand to overcome false narratives and stereotypes.

Thus, studying how this dynamic was formed and its long-term impacts on what we know today as ancient Greece. In doing so, many of the racial and cultural stereotypes we know today will be debunked and bring to light the ancient Greeks’ viewpoints on the “other.” With all the information gathered, I read different scholarly articles and studied various forms of artifacts from Greece and its neighbors. From my research, I conclude how learning the importance of these diverse interactions will improve how Classics is taught. After reading this paper, readers will understand the importance of studying the history of Greek interaction and expansion and its cultural influences on their legacy.
